Sara says: TAKE A PICTURE OF MY CAT IN VEGAS, BABY

I haven't done a good old fashioned junkin post in quite awhile. So here's a good old fashioned junkin post!

Pickings have been slim. But, to my surprise and delight, that poncey gentleman Roy Dudley had his shop open for the holiday weekend. Here's the loot!

vegas + camera + cat = trouble, baby!

First, let's talk about the orange thing. It's a Houze Art souvenir tray featuring beloved Vegas hot-spots of yesteryear. I'm talkin the likes of: The Sahara, The Stardust, The Dunes, The Hacienda, The Tropicana, The Sands, The Riviera, The Thunderbird, The Desert Inn, The Flamingo, and also giving props to the McCarran Field International Airport (LAS). I love Vegas history! It's so sad that most of these places don't operate anymore. *sigh*

Houze Art made fun little novelty glass tray/plate pieces featuring anything and everywhere. The perfect gift for those "Thanksgiving and Christmas" people. I kinda want to take it out of the box, but I kind of don't. $4!

"Souvenir Tray Gifts, by Houze Art"

Here's a close-up!

Now here we have a lovely Imperial Mark XII Flash - Medium Format Camera. I'm in no way a camera nerd, but my friend K is! I gave it to her to go in her lovely collection. $8!!!

Speaking to collections, I'm absolutely smitten with vintage planters. This one makes 4 in my collection! Ain't she sweet? Maybe I'll put a cactus in her. $12!

Lookit that face! D'awwww...

All in all, not a bad way to spend $20. And for those keeping track at home, everything was actually cheaper because the entire shop was discounted 20%. I may go back tomorrow for 50% funtimes!

Have a fun and safe holiday weekend!

Sara says: NOTHING LIKE HIGH MAINTANENCE ORCHIDS

The Pantone color of the year is 'Honeysuckle', but I'm a bit obsessed with a color a little further down the spectrum. ORCHID! OMG! ORCHID! ORCHID! ORCHID!

Here's some prime examples of my latest favorite color.

Now's here's orchid beautifully represented in stuff!

Sara says: Y'ALL KNOW I'M JUST A BIG LABEL WHORE

Howdy there lovelies! I have more makeup geekery for you today, plus a FABULOUS AND CHEAP MAKEUP FIND!

This is a brown/teal look that's heavy on the Label Whore eyeshadow by Too Faced. I love this eyeshadow and it's one of Too Faced's best! It's a smexy warm brown with a teal glimmer throughout. It blends like butter. This color would be a good pick for folks who normally just wear browns/taupes but are maybe thinkin about dabbling in a wee punch of color. A touch of Label Whore in the crease of your eye would be the bee's knees!

Default silly kissy face so you can see the look! :*

Also for this look I used one of the new glitter eyeliners by L.A. Colors. I used Peacock and it's right along my upper lash-line. I'm super psyched about their new liners and lemme tell ya why...

I purchased Peacock at my local Drug Emporium for $1.49!!! See my elation!!!

Here's some comparison swatches of Peacock versus Metal Head by Urban Decay and 02 Silver by Sephora.

Peacock is on the left, Metal Head (light purple) is in the middle, and 02 Silver is on the right.

+L.A. Colors' Peacock 0.24 fl oz - <$5.00
(price depending on retailer)
+Urban Decay's Metal Head 0.25 fl oz - $18.00
+Sephora's 02 Silver 0.12 fl oz - $12.00

There's a clear winner here I think...

I will say that Urban Decay's is more blingy with larger flecks of glitter. Sephora's is a bit more goopy in consistency but has more glitter saturation (which equals less passes over the eye). L.A. Colors' is a happy medium between the two - not accounting for the price difference though!

I would definitely (if ya couldn't tell already) recommend the L.A. Colors glitter liner. I've been romping about outside for a couple of hours and the glitter hasn't budged or migrated all over my face. The brush inside is small, pointy, and easy to work with. They have a lovely range of colors and I think I'm gonna have to pick up every single one of them (<- clicky the link to purchase online). Now these may be comparable to the NYX brand ones but I don't have one to compare (NYX is another lovely drugstore brand, though perhaps lacking in the customer service department).

So definitely a win overall! I'm so happy to find decent products on the cheap so I can dive back in to makeup artistry again. I also purchased a new mascara from Physician's Formula that I'm really digging.

Have you guys found any beauty holy grails recently? What are some of your utmost favorite things? Would you rock some glitter liner?

Sara says: "ROCK, ROCK FASHION BABY"

This is a gorgeous set designed by a Polyvore user, which I've only now just discovered. We're most interested in that shiny, genuine, and relatively uncut meteorite ring at the bottom...

I've been noticing a trend on Pinterest that makes me all giddy inside. Now we all know, since those nice young people over in England got married, that fascinators are on point at the moment. However, I don't fancy looking like this crazy bint Princess Beatrice. No, I much prefer a slightly more subtle, but equally as fascinating, statement piece.

Check out these gorgeous raw stone rings!

This last one is probably my favorite. Geek confession: my parents collected rocks, gemstones, fossils and minerals. Some of that fuckery rubbed off and I have a small collection of my own. I'm wondering if there's not a way to make one of these babies for myself. Hmmmm... Otherwise, this style varies in price (the fifth one down is from Urban Outfitters and is less than $30). My only caveat, especially when buying handmade, is to educate yourself a bit on gemstones and what the going rate is.

So would you guys rock these gorgeous rocks? What's your favorite statement piece to don?

Sara says: IT'S SO FLUFFY, I'M GONNA *DIE*!

Despicable Me joke, anyone?

Unicorns, I love them! (<-- I like the part where she says, "Unicorns, I love them.")

Well, I just had myself a rainbowtastic morning at the Goodwill! BEHOLD!

My local Goodwill has just become THE unicorn hangout spot, apparently. And EVERYTHING I GOT HAS A RAINBOW ON IT, OH EM GEE!

Why yes that is a unicorn hugging a boy... this may just be my favorite find ever. It was .50 cents. I love it so much. LOOK AT THEM! AAAAHHH!

He has holes in his back to... hold stuff? Makeup brushes, knitting needles? I love him and I will make good use of him. Also .50 cents!

A wee corny baby. Also, .50 cents!

A record! I just wanted the cover really. I think I could add some stitching to it and make it look even more colorful and ah-mazing.

I'm such a child, I know. But GAH! Love. Love. LOVE! And there were MORE unicorns to be had, but I had to be choosey. I also happen to have a ceramic figurine of a red bull. So, I think I'm gonna arrange all my unicorns around him... Last Unicorn. Get it? Best move ever! :)

Y'all have a magical week!

Sara says: WHAT IS THIS? OR BETTER YET, WHY?!?!?

I was at the Mid-Towne Antique Mall, and found this little dude. I asked myself...

What's this?

What's this?
WHAT IS THIS?
SERIOUSLY.

Oh, and Happy Mother's Day!

Sara's got some: EASTER CLOWN DRAMA!

What better tribute to THE RISEN LORD than... bunnies? Yes, bunnies. Makes total sense. Anyways, the bunnies have taken over Creepy Thrifted Clowns. It's not pretty.

Supplies are pretty endless, but I'll leave the "EASTER CLOWN DRAMA" at that until next year.

Happy Easter!
