Sara's got some: EASTER CLOWN DRAMA!

What better tribute to THE RISEN LORD than... bunnies? Yes, bunnies. Makes total sense. Anyways, the bunnies have taken over Creepy Thrifted Clowns. It's not pretty.

Supplies are pretty endless, but I'll leave the "EASTER CLOWN DRAMA" at that until next year.

Happy Easter!

Sara's Junktique Rainbow of Funtimes: PINK

No, you're not seeing hallucinations from last night's bender... well maybe you are, but I assure you, those above are very real and very adorable PINK elephants wearing gold bow ties. I can't think of a better color to end the Junktique Rainbow of Funtimes series! EEEEEEE!

*ahem* Now, that I've regained my composure, I was fortunate enough to snag the adorable elephants, vintage mermaid wall pockets, and metal plate w/ bowl in one go at the Mid-towne Antique Mall.

Closeup of the metal plate and bowl. Really very pretty.

Closeup of the mermaids (they're chalkware). I know I say this a lot, but these are one of my favorite things.

Perfect for Easter-times (you can see a bit of my table decorations in the background), I found this precious little lambie planter at Saver's. Followed by a profitable trip to Elaine's Closet (a consignment store here in Little Rock), I scored two plastic floral brooches.

Closeup of the brooches. The one on the right is an orchid, I believe. Very pretty and in super condition.

 Jelly-fishies scarf.

Floral enamel brooch as modeled by Ms. Hello Kitty. I couldn't resist.

A pink tin with a city shopping scene on it (I unwittingly made a set of these, which you can see on the YELLOW AND PURPLE posts).

I hope you've enjoyed this series as much as I've enjoyed making (and acquiring) it! You can navigate to all the other posts by clicking on the header above.

Bonus find! Rainbow peacock brooch!

Stay Tuned For: Amazing new plus-size clothing shops I've discovered! More junkin! Uhmmm... Endless whimsy!

Sara's Junktique Rainbow of Funtimes: INDIGO & VIOLET

Now, to stay true to the spirit of things, I wanted to distinguish between indigo (the bastard, oft-forgotten color of the rainbow) and violet. Indigo is more of a bluey-purple and violet is more of a reddish-purple. Considering that purple is a combination of red and blue... blah blah blah blah... Here's a helpful graphic!

On to the goodies!

A floral tin tray. Remarkably, the only tin of the purple persuasion that I have!

Officially, this is cobalt, but I'm gonna call it indigo dammit. Japanese china set featuring a pattern of peacocks and herons. Pretty common, but beautiful. And yes, I colorize my books, too.

 Closeup!

A fun, handmade, and reversible apron I acquired at an estate sale; from the same person who lovingly besequined the sparkle-fruits featured in RED and YELLOW.

A conglomerate of grape sparkle-fruit, a tin with a snowy scene, a white/opalescent kitty pin, and a gold kitty pin with purple accents.

I can't believe it's almost over! But fear not! I have a special-surprise-bonus color tomorrow! Can anyone guess what it is?

Hope you have a great day. Now go forth and share thy new-found learnings of the distinct and awesome variations of purple. It'll be sure to raise a disbelieving eyebrow among some men-folk for sure. ;)

Sara's Junktique Rainbow of Funtimes: BLUE

It's stormy around these parts. We've had a dozen tornadoes already this year and April is usually the roughest month. Blue seems appropriate for today. I hope the weather is alright where you are.

Trekkie or no, everyone should own a copy! Other illustrious publications include: Warmed by Love, Come Be with Me, We Are All Children Searching for Love, and The Splishy Warm Lappy Waves Makes Me Pee My Pants (or some somesuch).

Proud owner of an Olivetti Lettera 22. Clickclickclickityclick...

Gorgeous retro swag lamp and a vintage paint-by-number of sailing ships. Went to an estate that was FULL of them. A super fun thing to collect.

A shiny, lasery-etched, holographicy, blue and silver picture of an owl. I'm not sure about this one; it was my Granny's. I just know it's pretty and it's an owl and I love it.

A beautiful blue patterned hanky. The middle reminds me of a spider web.

A new generation Dream Pet! Her name is Mimi. You can meet Matilda and learn more about Dream Pets on the GREEN post.

Blue tins! Some Daher, some Brazilian, and a retro souvenir one from Hawaii. I'm seeing a lot of these "state" tin trays around in the junkin circuit. Some of them are pretty campy, but I think this one is beautiful.

Speaking of Hawaii, here we have a lovely handcrafted, stoneware mug. I love whales! This little bugger was kind of hard to photograph though, but it has a neat ombre blue-white color.

A Grecian-inspired tin and a plastic vintage button. It may be a little hard to make out the details unless you squint, but it's a ship! It has hence been turned into a pendant for a necklace.

And now I leave you with an excerpt of the brilliant Mr. Nimoy's equally...as...brilliant... poetry. *AHEM*

Sometimes
Are grey times

Scanning
The overcast sky

Across the tops
Of wet stately pines
I look for the light
Of heaven's rays

Blocked by the
cold grey
of winter clouds

Until at last
thinning to fleece
the moist white
gives way

And

As it has always
been
The darkness lightens

Allowing me
to see through

To the first
patch
of blue

Sara's Junktique Rainbow of Funtimes: GREEN

Why, hello there and well met on a Tuesday! I hope you're having a lovely week. I am so far! Yesterday, I bought ALL the Harry Potter movies on sale. Had a fabulous lunch and dinner with my love, Matthew. Went and saw Gnomeo and Juliet at the dollar theater (and now they live under my sink!) Went to Blue Suede Shoes Antique Mall and found some jewelry and more bird things to hang on my wall... I hope no one with a genuine fear of birds ever comes in to my house. It wouldn't be pretty.

But anyways, a great day! Here's some gorgeous green finds to start of *this* hopefully just as awesome day!

My favorite enamel flower brooch ever! It's a beautiful mint green (which is a bit difficult to photograph).

Retro floral wall decor. Pretty dated, but I think they're fun! I think they work well and don't look too kitschy, don't you? There's four all together with different flowers (roses, holly, thistle, and whatsits).

Action shot! This wasn't too long after I moved in. That's my ferret's cage, Finnigan, in the corner and my velvet paintings to the left. :)

My ginormous metal peacocks. I would save these in a fire. Mine are in super good shape and big ones seem to be harder to find (there's a ton of wee ones on eBay).

Bloody hell, I think I found a new thing to collect. What we have here is a Dakin Dream Pet. Her name is Matilda. She is a new generation Dream Pet and the story of the company is somewhat interesting; basically they were the beanie babies of the 70's, imported from Japan. The company revamped them in 2004 and they are adorable. I want all of them! I managed to find one more Dream Pet and we will meet her tomorrow for BLUE!

Green tins! These are some of my favorites. There's a Brazilian brand that I collect also (besides Daher). The three on the left are Brazilian.

A dated, but nifty and interesting, book on psychosexual behavor and a tin. I told y'all I was freaky...

One of my favorite vintage books that I've had since I was little. It has beautifully spooky illustrations in it. It's resting on a tin tray in the photos.

A green, floral vintage sheet that I'm using as a curtain. Oh, and my kitty.

Ms. Froggy the sponge holder. I may repurpose her to hold brooches I think.

"The House on Haunted Hill"- a vintage puzzle with all the pieces! Normally I pass on puzzles because I'm scared that they're missing bits, but this one was too fun to pass up.

Last, but not least...

Ok, I don't actually own this little lady. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. LOOKIT HER HAND OMFG! I SWEAR I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. SHE WAS JUST LIKE THAT! MY. NAME. ON. HER. HAND. IN. RED. *jibblies*
